Do unlimited eSIMs slow down?

Yes. An "unlimited" travel eSIM gives you a set amount of high-speed data each day (for example 1GB, 2GB or 3GB). Once it's used up, speed is reduced for the rest of the day — you stay connected — and full speed returns the next day. We only call a plan unlimited if the reduced speed is still 1Mbps or more; plans that drop below 1Mbps are named "XGB/day" instead.

Daily plans (reduced to below 1Mbps)

These plans slow down more once the daily high-speed data is used, so they're named "XGB/day" rather than unlimited.

How to choose

FAQ

Is there an unlimited eSIM that never slows down?

All of our unlimited plans have a daily high-speed allowance and slow down once it's used. For full speed throughout your trip, choose a large total-data plan — but you can't go online once that runs out.

When does full speed come back?

Full speed returns the next day, with no need to reinstall or change settings. The plan ends only when its days are used up.

Can I add more high-speed data if I run out?

Unlimited and daily plans can't be topped up at the moment. When the high-speed data runs out you're slowed down, not cut off, and full speed returns the next day. If you're worried, pick a plan with more high-speed data per day.

What's the difference between unlimited and total-data plans?

Unlimited plans give you a set amount of high-speed data each day, then slow down without cutting you off. Total-data plans share one allowance across the whole trip: full speed until it's used up, then no internet.
